Spotify Royalty Estimate Calculator
Model a streaming royalty scenario with adjustable rights-holder and fee assumptions.
Method
How it works
Spotify does not pay a fixed amount for each stream. This calculator treats the entered per-stream amount only as a scenario, then applies your contractual rights-holder share and an assumed distributor or label fee.
Spotify distributes royalties to rights holders using streamshare, and artists or songwriters are paid according to agreements with those rights holders. Territory, subscription mix, royalty pool, rights ownership, eligibility and contract terms can all change the final amount.
Common questions
Frequently asked questions
Does Spotify have a fixed per-stream rate?
No. Spotify says royalties are allocated from revenue pools using streamshare, so a per-stream figure is only a retrospective average or scenario assumption.
Does Spotify pay artists directly?
Usually Spotify pays recorded-music and publishing rights holders, who then pay artists and songwriters according to their agreements.
Why does the calculator ask for my contractual share?
The gross rights-holder estimate may not be the amount owed to you. A label, publisher or other rights arrangement can determine your share.
Are taxes and withdrawal thresholds included?
No. The estimate deducts only the entered distributor or label fee and excludes tax, banking costs, currency conversion and payout thresholds.
