YouTube Earnings Calculator

Estimate YouTube revenue from total views and your own RPM assumption.

Method

How it works

Enter total video views and an RPM taken from your own analytics or used as a scenario assumption. RPM represents creator revenue per 1,000 views, so the calculator divides views by 1,000 and multiplies by that rate.

YouTube RPM is different from advertiser CPM: RPM is measured after revenue share and uses total views, including views that were not monetised. Actual revenue varies by format, audience, territory, season, monetisation mix and eligibility.

Common questions

Frequently asked questions

What RPM should I enter?

Use the RPM shown in YouTube Analytics for the closest comparable period or test several assumptions. The calculator does not supply or predict a live platform rate.

Is YouTube RPM the same as CPM?

No. CPM reflects advertiser spend per 1,000 ad impressions before YouTube's revenue share, while RPM reflects creator revenue per 1,000 total views after revenue share.

Does this calculator work for YouTube Shorts?

The arithmetic works with a Shorts RPM, but do not reuse a long-form video RPM. YouTube calculates Shorts RPM from engaged views and its revenue model differs.

Is the result guaranteed?

No. It is a scenario based only on the views and RPM entered, not a payout quote or connection to YouTube Analytics.
